Nepal has been going through a vicious bout of flooding, with dozens dead and at least 20 more people missing. YouTube user Rishabh Shrestha was filming the surging floodwaters of of the Tinau river in the southern city of Butwal in Nepal when he captured this suspension bridge simply giving way. While dramatic, flooding is a relatively uncommon cause of bridge collapse. The last major bridge collapse due to flooding was the Veligonda Railway Bridge in near Hyderabad, India, in which a small section of rail bridge was washed away by flash flooding due to a burst irrigation tank after weeks of heavy rainfall. A train full of people travelling for Diwali crossed the bridge shortly after, sending the train into the river, ultimately killing 114.Luckily in this case, no one appears to have been using the bridge when it collapses. Still, the country continues to suffer from non-stop rain and flooding—current estimates say the monsoon rains have killed at least 54 people
